There is a moment, just before sunset on the Serengeti plains, when the light turns the grass to gold and the whole savannah goes quiet. It is not a bad moment to promise someone the rest of your life.

In the Serengeti. A ceremony on the open plains with the herds moving in the distance, followed by a bush dinner under the stars and a night in a luxury tented camp. This is the one people picture when they imagine an African wedding.
At the foot of Kilimanjaro. A ceremony with the snow-capped summit behind you — on a coffee farm outside Moshi, or in the highlands where our family is from. Kilimanjaro is at its clearest in the early morning, so we plan around the light.
On the Ngorongoro crater rim. The view drops two thousand feet into one of the great wildlife arenas on earth. Cool, green, and unlike anywhere else.
On a Zanzibar beach. Barefoot, at sunset, on white sand with a dhow on the horizon. Perfect on its own, and perfect as the second half of a safari wedding.
This is the first question every couple asks us, and the honest answer is: it depends on your dates and your paperwork.
A symbolic ceremony is the simpler route, and it is what most of our couples choose. You complete the legal marriage at home, then come here and have the ceremony that actually means something to you — in the bush, on the mountain, on the beach. No bureaucracy, no deadlines, and not one bit less real.
A legal ceremony in Tanzania is also possible, but it involves documentation and lead time. Requirements change, and they depend on your nationality, so we will not pretend to give you legal advice on a web page. Tell us where you are from and when you want to marry, and we will find out exactly what applies to you and walk you through it.
Everything, if you want us to. The officiant and the permits. The ceremony site and its set-up. Flowers, an arch, a cake, and a Maasai choir if that speaks to you. A photographer and a videographer who know how to work in that light. Accommodation for you and for your guests, at whatever level of comfort you choose. Transfers, internal flights, and a safari either side of the ceremony.
We are a family business, so a wedding is not a product line to us. One of us will be with you the whole way, and you will have our phone number, not a ticket number.
Some of our favourite weddings have had two guests: the couple, and a guide holding the flowers. An elopement in the bush is quiet, unhurried and startlingly beautiful, and it costs a fraction of a full wedding.
Vow renewals work the same way. Come back for the anniversary, stand in the same light, and say it again with a decade of proof behind you.
