The longer routes have the highest summit success. The nine-day Northern Circuit and the seven or eight-day Lemosho route give your body the most time to acclimatise, and their success rates are correspondingly the highest. The five-day Marangu route has the lowest, simply because it is too fast.

Kilimanjaro requires no technical climbing skills or ropes. It is a long, high walk. The real difficulty is altitude, not fitness, which is why route length matters more than athletic ability. If you can walk for six hours a day for a week, you can climb Kilimanjaro with the right route and pace.

Yes, and it is mandatory. Your policy must cover trekking above 5,000 metres and include medical evacuation. We will ask to see it before your climb.

Airport transfers, accommodation in Moshi or Arusha before and after the climb, all park and camping fees, a certified guide and full support crew, all meals on the mountain, tents and camping equipment, and a medical kit with oxygen and a pulse oximeter. Personal gear, flights, visas, insurance and tips are not included.

You pass through five climate zones. The rainforest at the bottom is warm and humid, while on summit night temperatures can drop to around minus 15 to minus 20 degrees Celsius with wind chill. Layers are essential, and we send every climber a full packing list before arrival.

Yes. Most of the people we take to the summit have never climbed a mountain before. What matters is choosing a long enough route, walking slowly, drinking plenty of water and listening to your guide.
